1:1 CBT-I sessions for adults and young people

If you are having difficulty sleeping it can be really hard to know the best way forward. Having 1:1 sessions with a trained professional means you will have an opportunity to talk through your particular experience and develop a plan that is based on well evidenced techniques and is specific to your needs.

How sessions work

Our first session will usually be an assessment session. This is an opportunity for you to talk through your experiences so far. In addition to your sleep, I would usually ask a little about your health and lifestyle so that I have a good understanding of how life is for you and therefore what will work when it comes to improving your sleep. By the end of the assessment session I aim to outline the therapy options for you so you can decide if this approach is what you are looking for and when you want to start.

In your second session we will begin to build your plan for improving your sleep. The plan may include cognitive elements, such as managing frustration, as well as behavioural elements such as when to go to bed and get up and what to do if you are awake and can't sleep.

In each session we will review your progress from the previous session looking at what went well and what was a challenge for you. We would then make adjustments to the plan for moving forward. At the end of each session I will email you a copy of the plan and any resources that you can use to support you between sessions.

A full-course of CBT-I is usually 6-8 sessions, but the length of therapy can vary greatly from person to person depending on the severity of the insomnia and the amount of support needed. Wherever possible I will try to tailor my approach to your requirements in terms of the number of sessions you would like and I aim to be transparent about what can reasonably be achieved.

Cost

Sessions cost £95 for a 50-minute online session via Zoom.
